For all the magic creams and potions we lather on our faces to achieve that sought-after glow up, sometimes the culprit behind that one pesky pimple is simply our hormones. Hormonal fluxes impact the skin throughout our lives. Your acne breakouts during puberty? Blame it on rising estrogen and androgens. Pre-period flare-ups and puffiness? Caused by the rise and fall of progesterone. That pregnancy glow? All thanks to a boost in estrogen levels. In perimenopause and menopause, the drop in estrogen is most dramatic, leading to dryness, dullness, a reduction in elasticity and slower skin repair, according to Beth Wright, a functional medicine health coach and certified functional nutritionist specialising in women’s health and performance. “Many women assume their skincare has suddenly stopped working, but it’s actually their hormonal baseline that’s changed.”

According to Dr Stephen Chan, chief medical advisor for LifeHealth Group, the most important hormones for the skin are the sex hormones: estrogen, progesterone and testosterone. 我們正在輸掉與癌症的戰爭嗎？ 

根據世界衛生組織（WHO）的統計，全球每年新增1,400萬宗癌症病例，其中約有三分之二，即800萬人最終因癌症死亡。未來的二十年，這個數字可能會倍增。 

我們活在一個劇毒環境日益嚴重的世界中：魚類含有汞，雞隻被餵食砒霜來增強食慾，牲畜則被注射荷爾蒙以增加體重。這些毒素對人體的排毒機制與免疫系統造成極大負擔。 

香港Life Clinic院長陳醫生（Dr. Stephen Chan）指出，人體對抗癌症的關鍵正是這兩大系統。

 「我們的身體不斷在產生潛在的癌細胞，」陳醫生說。「但99%的DNA突變會被細胞自行修復或自我毀滅（即細胞凋亡）。 

若有突變細胞逃過監控，它們可能會無限制地增生，侵入周圍組織，並透過血管轉移到肝臟、骨骼或大腦等部位。」

 傳統醫學主要透過手術、放射治療與化療來對抗癌細胞。儘管這些方法對初期癌症有效，但對於已經擴散的第三或第四期癌症成效有限。 

陳醫生解釋：「癌細胞極為狡猾，它們能關閉原本會觸發自毀程序的P53抑癌基因，或是啟動有利癌細胞生存的基因表達。它們甚至能躲藏在血液供應不足的區域，讓化療藥物難以到達。」

 陳醫生指出，成功對抗癌症的策略應包括改變癌細胞的生長條件，例如鹼化血液、控制糖分攝取。許多患者在化療初期反應良好，但幾個月後癌症可能轉移並產生抗藥性。

這正是整合腫瘤醫學（Integrative Oncology）的核心：不僅摧毀癌細胞，更要改變其生存與成長的根本條件。 

此方法旨在保持患者體力與免疫力，無論是否接受傳統療法，都能提升存活機率與生活品質。 

「如果患者本身無法挺過療程，殺死癌細胞也沒意義。」陳醫生強調。

 1. 癌細胞敏感性測試（Cancer Cell Sensitivities） 

透過血液檢測分離癌細胞，並測試其對不同的化療藥物或天然療法的反應。 

這幫助醫療團隊挑選最有效且副作用最低的組合。 

2. 高劑量靜脈維他命C療法（High-dose IV Vitamin C） 

高劑量維他命C作為輔助癌症治療已超過40年。 

靜脈注射能在不傷害正常細胞的情況下，誘發癌細胞死亡。研究顯示此療法可延長癌末患者壽命達一年以上。 

3. 酵素療法（Enzyme Therapy） 

高劑量的蛋白分解酵素可破壞癌細胞外殼，使免疫系統更容易辨識與攻擊。 

搭配凱利療法（Kelly Protocol）的營養方案，曾成功應用於難治型如胰臟癌等。

 4. 高溫治療（Hyperthermia）

 透過加熱身體至攝氏42度，研究顯示可破壞癌細胞蛋白質結構。

 這有效提升放療與化療的效果，對正常組織傷害極小。

 5. 低劑量化療（Metronomic Chemotherapy）

與傳統高劑量化療不同。 

此法使用低劑量、持續性給藥。

 可防止腫瘤生成新血管，不僅副作用低，還能維持生活品質。 

更減少抗藥性與復發風險。

 許多癌症患者常感到徬徨無助，尤其在晚期階段，身體虛弱、生活品質急劇下降。

 陳醫生指出： 

「對抗癌症不必這麼痛苦。只要願意跳出傳統思維框架，整合醫學提供更多選擇與希望。」

香港癌症統計：早期發現的必要性

根據2022年的統計數據，香港癌症新增個案達35,373宗，平均每日有97人確診癌症。其中，女性佔51.3%（18,134宗），男性佔48.7%（17,239宗）。每十萬人口的癌症粗發病率為482，男性（514）略高於女性（454）。五大主要癌症——肺癌、乳腺癌、大腸癌、前列腺癌和肝癌——合共佔全港癌症新症個案的58%。 儘管醫學技術日新月異，癌症治療方法不斷進步，許多癌症在早期階段已可被有效治愈，但仍有大量患者在癌症惡化至晚期時才被診斷，導致治療難度大幅增加。因此，「早期癌症檢測」已成為對抗癌症的重要策略。

 

CTC檢測是什麼？

CTC檢測（Circulating Tumour Cells Test，循環腫瘤細胞檢測）是一種先進的癌症檢測方法，能夠在影像檢測無法發現的早期階段（腫瘤小於6毫米）檢測到癌細胞。這項技術通過分析血液中的循環腫瘤細胞（CTC），幫助醫生及早發現癌症並監測治療效果。

 

CTC 檢測的原理

癌症是一種基因疾病，發病前基因會發生突變。通過癌症基因檢測，可以評估癌症發生的風險。此外，癌細胞為了從血液中吸收營養，會生成新的血管，並通過這些血管在體內循環，進而侵入其他器官，形成新的癌組織。這種擴散過程使得癌細胞進入血液，而CTC檢測正是利用這一特性，檢測血液中的癌細胞。

 

CTC 檢測的準確度

研究顯示，CTC檢測對某些癌症類型（如乳腺癌、前列腺癌、胰腺癌、結腸癌和皮膚癌）的敏感度達87%，特異性為83%。
